Keeping Up With The Kube Family: Back to Work!

After enjoying 12 weeks of maternity leave at home, I put my scrubs back on yesterday morning and went back to work! It was a bittersweet day as I kissed my baby goodbye for her first day of daycare. But all went well for both of us. During our time off together we had a lot of nice sunny days where we got out for walks. We hit up some great garage sales too. Charlotte proved to be an excellent shopping buddy and was usually fast asleep when we ventured to Target or Costco to run errands. Every Wednesday morning, Sam, Charlotte and I would go to the Library to see Kristi, Faith and Mason. But most importantly, Charlie and I would catch up on our sleep and take a wonderful morning nap together. We were also busy: Sam turned Two (I can't believe it!) and had a great birthday party. Charlotte was baptized and Kelli and Ryan are her wonderful Godparents, We also had a fun Easter at our house and a Badger basketball party. Sam has been loving playing t-ball out in the front yard every chance he gets. He says he "wants to play bats". He has gotten good at even throwing the ball up himself and hitting it. Usually the neighbor girls will come over to play with him too. We also started him in a little kids soccer class that ran for 6 weeks - he had so much fun! He sure loves sports! We have also got out to the Arboretum, the Zoo and the farmers market with the nice weather. Vince and I try to make the most of our time when both kids are asleep at night and our favorite thing to do is sit outside on the front porch in the rocking chairs and have a beer or two together. Even though life with 2 young kids can be exhausting at times, it is important to remember its also pretty great!
