Keeping Up With The Kube Family: Fall Fun

It's hard to believe it is already November! It has been an enjoyable fall. We had a lot of beautiful days to savor before the next season is upon us... which I am not quite ready for! We did our annual get together in Mankato for the Mankato Marathon - Vince, my mom and I ran the 10K again. Megan T ran the Half this year, and so did Jessica! Ben also ran the Kids K, and Bella did the 5K! Race day started out dark and cold, but wasn't too bad by the end of the race. We also celebrated Mom and Dad's 30th Anniversary that weekend! It was nice to all be together.

Vince, Sam and I also enjoyed a beautiful fall day at Devils Lake State Park. We took the Merrimac Ferry (Sam and my first time on a ferry) across the Wisconsin River. We packed a picnic lunch, and did a little hiking. The trees were almost at their peak, it was very pretty. We accidentally took the wrong trail up the "hill" and ended up doing a very adventurous hike with our 6 month old. Needless to say we were very glad to be back on the solid ground safe and sound. Luckily Sam was loving every minute, even though we were quite nervous!

Sam's first Halloween was a hit with his Dinosaur costume! He didn't seem to mind the costume at all. Vince was very excited when he "hit the Jackpot" at Goodwill to find him and I Jurrassic Park character costumes to compliment our little Dino. It ended up being a very rainy night, so we only went to our neighbors on the Circle who know Sam. The Sunday before we also hit Watertown during their Trick or Treat hours. Grandma and Grandpa Kube spoiled us with lots of candy and also a delicious dinner. Next year might be quite a different trick or treat experience. :)
