A couple weeks ago, I went up to Door County for a wine tasting weekend with some girl friends. Unfortunately it ended sooner than I had hoped, Vince called that Saturday to let me know Sam was being admitted to the hospital. The urgent care doctor was concerned he had a serious condition, bacterial meningitis, so Vince and Sam rode an ambulance to the hospital. Luckily, he did not have meningitis. He had an ear infection and blood infection. He spent 2 nights in the hospital because they wanted to give IV antibiotics and monitor him further. It was a stressful couple days. This was the most difficult thing we have dealt with so far as parents. Vince and I probably both got a few gray hairs that weekend, we were so worried about our little guy! He is back to his old self again and we couldn't be happier.
